Each quarterly newsletter, we like to include a success story highlighting one of our contracted network providers, and how they work closely with us to better serve UnitedHealthcare members. This quarter, we’re featuring A Perfect Smile. Dr. Blane Jackson and his wife, Stephanie, started A Perfect Smile in Price, Utah, in 2007. They have since expanded the practice to 5 new locations throughout Arizona. Here’s their story.
Dr. Jackson is a top dental provider for our members with special health care needs. He has gone above and beyond in working to expand his ability to see more patients. This includes getting credentialed at additional surgical centers and hospital-based facilities and providing clinical days at offices in other areas outside his Phoenix office. He has also mentored associates in his office to expand the network of those comfortable treating this population.
It’s because of these amazing efforts that the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Arizona gave A Perfect Smile the first ever Arizona Community Health Equity Champion award.
The award-winning dental practice pulled together as a team in May of 2023 to treat a child with a rare condition that required immediate care. The patient’s mother came to A Perfect Smile in search of a solution for her daughter’s 2 significant mouth infections, which had been unsuccessfully treated by other dental practices.
After working quickly with the patient’s hematologist and primary care provider, A Perfect Smile’s anesthesiologist, Dr. Hatch, approved the case to get the patient treated within 2 weeks, alleviating her intense pain and healing her infections.
When asked about the surgery, team member Aimee said, “We learned that we can all work fast when faced with a crucial situation. Having trust in each other that everyone is doing their part in the job to help not only this patient, but patients every day.”
