You may see more Individual Exchange members

On Dec. 31, 2022, Bright Healthcare™ and Friday Health Plans® are exiting the Individual and Family ACA Marketplace in the following states:

  • Bright Healthcare: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia
  • Friday Health: Texas

This means your practice may see an increase in patients in 2023 if the impacted individuals and families choose to enroll in, or are automatically enrolled in, UnitedHealthcare Individual Exchange plans.1,2

How to prepare

We’re working to make this a smooth transition for everyone.

To prepare, we recommend the following:

  • Familiarize yourself with the new 2023 Individual Exchange ID cards by visiting our Individual Exchange plans page. It’s important that you and your staff can identify these new patients when they visit your office.
  • Make sure your demographic information is current in our systems by visiting the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal, our secure site you can access at UHCprovider.com and by signing in. This will help patients get the care they need and help us best support you.
  • Let your staff know that you can submit prior authorizations on Dec. 1, 2022, for services with effective dates of Jan. 1, 2023, and after for members who are assigned to a primary care physician
