COVID-19 PHE ends on May 11, 2023

Last modified: Feb. 29, 2024
Update: COVID-19 provisions have ended and the UnitedHealthcare COVID-19 Information and Resources page is no longer active on our website. UnitedHealthcare will resume adjudicating claims and services in accordance with a member's plan benefit and/or state requirements.

On Jan. 30, 2023, the White House announced the COVID-19 national emergency and public health emergency (PHE) expired at the end of the day on May 11, 2023. This means some of the temporary programs, processes and procedures UnitedHealthcare implemented as a result of COVID-19 also ended on May 11, 2023.

For dates of service on or after May 12, 2023, coverage and cost-share (copay, coinsurance and deductible), including out-of-network costs, are adjudicated in accordance with a member’s plan benefits. Please refer to plan benefits for more detail.

For Medicaid and other state-specific requirements, please refer to state-specific Medicaid websites or your state’s UnitedHealthcare Community Plan website, if applicable.
