In today’s world, being able to work quickly, efficiently and securely is more important than ever before. That’s why UnitedHealthcare is embarking on a multi-year effort to enhance our digital delivery channels and transition paper transactions to electronic, whenever possible. Our goal is to make it easier for you to work with us, reduce the time it takes for you to perform claim and clinical activities – and ultimately, help you get paid faster. These efforts align with the Quadruple Aim of lower cost of care, improved physician experience, improved patient outcomes and improved patient experience.
From learning about new technology or processes to helping your team prepare for the change, keeping up with digital initiatives across all the health insurers you work with can feel overwhelming. We’ll support you every step of the way with the tools and information you need to make the changes as seamless and smooth as possible. And, as always, we’ll comply with any contractual and regulatory requirements.
Explore the resources below to learn more about UnitedHealthcare’s digital tools and what’s ahead.
The first step toward using our digital tools is to set up an account on the UnitedHealthcare provider portal. You’ll be able to use the self-service tools to access patient information on your time – not ours. You can review benefit information, submit prior authorizations, check claim status, receive documents electronically and more.
Electronic payments like ACH/ direct deposit and virtual cards are designed to help you get paid faster and stabilize your cashflow.
Claim letters, reports and data files are available electronically to view, download, print and share with others in your organization.
Use the Prior Authorization and Notification tool (PAAN) to check requirements and submit requests – it’s faster and more secure than fax submissions.
The right web browser makes accessing our website and digital tools faster, easier and more secure.
