Link Enhancements

We’re always looking for ways to improve our self-service tools. Thanks to your feedback, we’ve made the following enhancements to our Link tools.

Claim Reconsideration Submission Status

When a new claim reconsideration request is submitted, the ticket status is “Pending Assignment.” We’ve added a message to the ticket to clarify that you cannot make any updates to the request until the status has changed. The status will usually change within 24 hours.

Member Search

You can now receive 24 months of claims history for all members except UnitedHealthcare Oxford members.

Claim Level Ambulance Fields

We’ve added claim level ambulance fields to the claim submission screen so you can enter drop-off and pickup zip codes.

Provider Remittance Advice Documents (PRA)

You can now access PRA documents for UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage, UnitedHealthcare commercial, and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, except for Community Plan of Louisiana, in Document Vault. To receive UnitedHealthcare West payment packages in Document Vault, ask your Link Password Owner to turn off mail delivery in the Paperless Delivery Options tool on Link.

Check Prior Authorization Requirements by Procedure Code

Use eligibilityLink to find out if a procedure code requires prior authorization. Click Check Prior Authorization by Code, enter the planned Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) or Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) procedure code, and then click Search and then Perform Inquiry. The inquiry response will confirm if a prior authorization is required based on the member’s product type (commercial, Medicare or Medicaid) and the member’s state. If a prior authorization is needed, click Go to Prior Authorization App.

News Alert

We’ve added a News Alert button under the Help button on the right-hand side of the tool so that you’ll know when we’ve added new functions or enhancements to eligibilityLink.

Checking Transaction Status

We’ve updated the search status function. You can search by submission timeframe or the status of the submission.

Hospital Affiliations

You can view or modify hospital affiliations without opening the details screen by viewing the Hospital Affiliations column on the Provider Demographics tab.

Check Prior Authorization Requirements by Procedure Code

On the Prior Authorization and Notification home page, click Check Prior Authorization by Code, then on the next screen enter the member’s product type (commercial, Medicare or Medicaid), the member’s state and the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) or Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) procedure code. You’ll find out if the procedure code requires prior authorization in different settings.

Print or Download Confirmation of Case Submission

After submitting a case you can print the confirmation page or download a PDF file.

Flag Cases on the Case Submission Confirmation Page

You can add a case to your flagged cases list by clicking the flag below the print icon on the right side of the confirmation page.

MPIN Added to Care Provider Selection

We’ve updated the care provider drop-down on the Provider Selection screen to include MPIN.

Corporate Owner Name Alphabetized

We’ve alphabetized the care provider name for the corporate tax ID number in the drop-down on the Provider Selection screen.
