New Colorado health plans offered

Last modified: February 12, 2021

Effective Jan. 1, 2021, we have expanded options for members through the health insurance marketplace, Connect for Health Colorado. In Colorado, new plans are offered using the Colorado Doctors Plan network and are known as Colorado Doctors Plan Gold, Colorado Doctors Plan Silver and Colorado Doctors Plan Bronze.

These plans:

  • Are designed for individuals and families
  • Use a customized network with an accountable care group of health care professionals
  • Require members to be assigned a primary care physician (PCP) to manage their health care needs

Rocky Mountain Health Plans manages the plans using your current contract and same contractual rates as you now have with UnitedHealthcare’s Colorado Doctors Plan. If you’re contracted with Doctors Plan, you’re contracted for the individual and family plans.

Behavioral health services are supported by Rocky Mountain Health Plans Network.

Out-of-network/Out-of-area benefit coverage

Individual and family members have no out-of-network or out-of-area benefit coverage, except for emergency services and related admissions, unless specifically approved by Rocky Mountain Health Plans. To be covered, members must receive eligible services at participating provider locations within the service area.
