The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) commissions a survey of primary care providers to measure how well we’re meeting your expectations and needs. UnitedHealthcare’s summary rates are compared to the HealthChoice Aggregate benchmarks and results from the prior year to identify additional areas for improvement.
Areas identified for improvement include, but are not limited to:
Accuracy and timeliness of claims
Timeliness of pre-authorizations for medications, outpatient and inpatient services
Coordination of Care and Case Management
Customer Service/Provider Relations
Accuracy of response and/or ability to resolve problems
Accuracy and accessibility of the drug formulary updates
Rating of the number and quality of network specialists
Ease of contacting the correct customer service representative
We’re committed to improving provider satisfaction with the health plan. A UnitedHealthcare work group is currently focused on developing interventions to address key drivers of satisfaction as well as areas identified as of high importance to providers.
