Exchange Plans Expansion

Last modified: October 15, 2020

UnitedHealthcare is expanding options for members to purchase health insurance through a Health Insurance Marketplace, otherwise known as an Exchange.

Our Exchange plans offer affordable care for our members and access to a network of accessible providers.

In 2021, we will be entering or expanding in select coverage areas in the following states:

Plans will include all the essential health benefits and will be offered in three metal levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. In Washington, we’re offering Select Gold, Silver and Bronze Plans under the Cascade Care Program. Additionally, members will receive:

  • 3 virtual care visits with $0 copay on most plans within a plan year?
  • 3 $0 primary care visits on at least one Silver plan in most markets within a plan year?

Individuals can begin enrolling in November for coverage effective Jan. 1, 2021 and may schedule appointments to be seen starting Jan. 1, 2021. Member ID cards will show the name of the state Exchange. Please remind members that the first premium payment makes coverage effective.
