Smart Edits, a claims optimization tool that identifies a potential billing error and notifies you on your 277CA clearinghouse rejection report, now has a new type of Smart Edit called a documentation edit. You may receive a documentation edit if your claim requires specific documentation related to your submission.
When you get a documentation edit, please review the edit for more information and submit the required documentation through TrackIt, available in Link, within five calendar days. If you don’t provide the documentation within that time frame, the claim will be processed as originally submitted. This edit is found at the line level of the claim.
