February is Low Vision Awareness Month, a time to highlight the importance of early detection and intervention for patients with vision impairment. Low vision describes vision impairment that can’t be fully corrected with standard eyewear or medical treatment.
Approximately 7 million Americans live with vision impairment. Early intervention can make a meaningful difference in helping patients maintain independence and quality of life.
To help patients navigate the challenges of vision loss, UnitedHealthcare Vision has teamed up with Hadley, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering people with vision loss.
Visit our new Low Vision page for comprehensive information about Hadley’s free support offerings, practical tools, emotional guidance, their new mobile app and additional materials you can share with patients.
