Hawaii Medicaid: HOKU registration required

As of Dec. 31, 2023, all health care professionals who serve QUEST Integration enrollees must register as Medicaid providers, per the Hawaii Department of Human Services. This requirement is applicable to new and existing provider contracts, as well as renewal and recredentialing contracts.

What this means for you

To get reimbursed for providing care to patients who are UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Hawaii members, you must enroll with HOKU, the new Med-QUEST Division (MQD) enrollment system. If you’re not registered in HOKU on Jan. 1, 2024, all claims submitted from that date forward will be denied.

How to enroll

Go to the HOKU Provider Enrollment System to register. You can also access training and resources on the site, and review frequently asked questions.

Questions?

For enrollment assistance, call the HOKU Provider Hotline at 808-692-8099 or 833-909-3630 for neighbor islands, or email HCSBinquiries@dhs.hawaii.gov. Reach out to your provider advocate with additional questions.
