Join the Michigan Vaccines for Children Program

Your participation in the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program will help provide access to childhood vaccines and reduce financial hardship for parents. The program specifically targets Medicaid-eligible, uninsured and underinsured children, ensuring they receive necessary vaccinations.

What we’re asking you to do

Consider joining the VFC Program if you haven’t already. To get started, contact your local Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. For more information, see the VFC Resources Guide.

Vaccination education

Your partnership is key to helping Michigan children get a healthy start. Please help educate parents about the importance of vaccinations. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers these 3 reminders for discussing the topic with parents:

  • Assume parents will vaccinate
  • Your patient’s parents trust your guidance when you offer vaccination recommendations
  • Answering parent’s questions helps them feel confident in choosing to immunize their child
