Know your roles within your organization

There are 3 user roles that may have access within the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal including the Primary Access Administrator, an Administrator or a Standard User.  You will find the descriptions of these roles below: 

Primary Access Administrator

A special administrator who controls 3rd party access to the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal for their organization’s Administrators and  Standard Users 

 

  • Must be first person to register for UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal in organization. They will attest to the responsibility and validate the organization before additional users can register.
  • Organization can only have 1 Primary Access Administrator assigned 
  • PAA can manage Document Delivery Settings and 3rd Party Access 

 

 

Administrators

Users who can control access for other Administrators and  Standard Users

 

  • Administrators can create new users, finalize registration requests and manage user access    
  • They will approve user job functions and access to the appropriate organization tax ID numbers (TINs)  
  • There is no limit to the number of Administrators an organization may have 

 

 

Standard User

Users who self-register for portal access and  are approved by the Primary Access Administrator or an  Administrator

 

  • All users must have their own One Healthcare ID
  • An organization can have an unlimited number of Standard Users
