Shared Services Updates for GEHA

Beginning Jan. 1, 2021, the following Government Employees Health Association (GEHA) members in the following states will now access the Choice Plus network of providers:

  • Delaware
  • Louisiana
  • Maryland
  • North Carolina
  • Oklahoma
  • Virginia
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Wisconsin
  • West Virginia

GEHA members with the Choice Plus network will:

  • Have access to our National Ancillary network of providers
  • Have clinical services
  • Optum provides inpatient medical and mental health utilization management
    • e.g., notification, initial determination, inpatient care management and appeals

GEHA members with the Options PPO network will use Conifer Health Solutions for inpatient medical and mental health utilization management. Conifer Health Solutions uses:

  • Utilization Management Services
    • e.g., notification, initial determination, inpatient care management and appeals
  • Milliman Care Guidelines®
  •  URAC-accredited in health utilization management
