Recredentialing

After you have been in the network for 3 years you will receive notification for recredentialing to ensure professional qualifications remain valid and current. The notification will include instructions specific to your specialty.

  1. If your application is on CAQH ProViewTM and up to date, you may not need to take any action at the time of recredentialing.
  2. You can submit updates on your services or service area at any time through CAQH ProView.

Your provider recredentialing file is considered complete within 5 business days after all requested supporting documents have been received by UnitedHealthcare.

You can check on the status of your credentialing application by sending an email request to networkhelp@uhc.com.  Please include the care provider’s full name, tax ID and, National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Recredentialing allows you to update the practice locations and contact information we use in the Provider Directory made available to patients.

Credentialing standards are set by national accrediting agencies and state and federal regulating bodies. UnitedHealthcare’s credentialing standards fully comply with the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) and specific State and Federal requirements.
