New York: National Drug Code reporting

Starting June 1, 2021, an accurate National Drug Code (NDC) must be reported for all physician-administered drugs billed on the Institutional Claim form. TThis is required in order to align with the New York State Department of Health Medicaid Update from February 2019.

Drugs obtained at the 340B price, indicated by the UD modifier, will also require the NDC. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

These requirements apply to:

  • UnitedHealthcare Community Plan for Families (Medicaid)
  • UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Wellness 4 Me (Health and Recovery Plan [HARP])
  • UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Essential Plan (EP)
  • UnitedHealthcare Community Plan ChildHealthPlus (CHP)
