Policy and protocol updates in 2022

Changes make it easier to find news you need

Starting Jan. 1, 2022, you will be able to find your policy and protocol updates from UnitedHealthcare under the policy and protocol updates category on our news page – UHCprovider.com/news.

We encourage you to regularly review these notices when we release them on the first of each month. It will help ensure your workflow and processes for UnitedHealthcare claims remain up to date.

The easiest way to review the notices is to subscribe to our email newsletters – and, you can customize what you receive based on your role, state, specialty and more. You’ll only receive news that is pertinent to you as part of your workflow to ensure your processes for UnitedHealthcare claims remain up to date.

Your feedback led to these changes

Based on feedback and research done with health care professionals like you, we’re following your guidance to label news stories in a clear and descriptive way. We've also added more ways to sort and filter news items, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Email information required for network providers

As part of your UnitedHealthcare contract, network health care professionals and facilities are contractually required to do business with us electronically. We must have a valid email address on file to send you required notifications and important information. Submit your email address 1 of 2 ways:

  1. Sign up for a One Healthcare ID, which also gets you access to the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal
  2. Subscribe to Network News emails to receive update emails twice a month

If you’ve already done one or both of these, please check to ensure the email address on file is up to date.

Not contracted with UnitedHealthcare?

You can still set up a One Healthcare ID and subscribe to Network News emails. Both will help you stay up to date with UnitedHealthcare news and processes.
