2022 National Immunization Awareness Month resources

You play an important role in helping encourage immunizations for your patients of all ages.

This National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM), we want to provide you with some recommended best practices and resources. This information may help support your patient conversations and offer you tools as you work to improve flu, COVID-19 and childhood vaccination rates.

Actions you may want to consider

• Use the Patient Care Opportunity Report (PCOR) at UHCprovider.com and/or your state’s immunization registry to identify which of your patients are due for vaccinations
• Consider having staff call or email your patients, including the parents of young patients, to help explain the importance of staying current with their vaccinations and ask if they have any questions
• Develop and implement vaccination standing orders to allow your qualified staff members to give vaccines
• Share your best practices with peers and staff members
