Beginning July 1, 2023, all Medicaid funded home health care services must use an electronic visit verification (EVV) system for transmitting data to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
You’ll have a chance to start using the program beginning April 1, 2023. This soft launch period from April 1, 2023, through June 30, 2023, will allow the provider, health plan and state to test the process. We recommend you use the EVV process during this time. If you don‘t and you choose to submit claims directly to the health plan, the system will prompt an alert that as of July 1 you must use EVV to receive payment.
To help prepare you for this change, we invite you to join 1 of our virtual training sessions on the EVV process. We’ll cover the same information in each session, so you only need to attend 1 — or attend as often as you like for a review session. Each session will cover:
