New York Ambulatory Patient Groups guidelines to be enforced starting Aug. 1, 2022

Effective Aug. 1, 2022, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan New York will start enforcing Ambulatory Patient Groups (APG’s) guidelines as published by the New York State Department of Health. Providers will need to bill APG as required.

Why is this change occurring?
We are implementing this enforcement as part of our ongoing effort to align with the guidelines set forth by the New York State Department of Health, including:

• Ambulatory Patient Groups (APGs) Medicaid Fee-for-Service Provider Manual Policy & Billing Guidelines
• Ambulatory Care Payment Reform
