New York Durable Medical Equipment policy to be enforced starting Aug. 1, 2022
Effective Aug. 1, 2022, we will start enforcing Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies policy as published by the New York State Department of Health. Providers will need to bill DMEPOS as required. The enforcement applies to DMEPOS coverage for UnitedHealthcare Community Plan New York members.
Note: Compression stockings limits will be excluded from this enforcement.
Why is this change occurring?
We are implementing this enforcement as part of our ongoing effort to align with the guidelines set forth by the New York State Medicaid Program.
