New York Medicaid: Complete required Think Cultural Health training by Sept. 30

Who: UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of New York

What: The New York Department of Health (NYDOH) requires all Medicaid health care professionals to take the “Think Cultural Health” training class and report completion of the training. The NYDOH also requires us to keep a record of all UnitedHealthcare Community Plan participating providers who’ve taken this training.

When: This training must be completed by Sept. 30, 2022, and annually thereafter.

Where: This training is available on the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) website at Communication Guide - Think Cultural Health (hhs.gov). The training can help participating health care professionals provide more effective care delivery to enrollees and help decrease health disparities.

How: You will receive an email notification requesting verification that you have completed the training.

In the event that a provider office that has a larger number of healthcare professionals in the group, and a single point of contact would like to attest on behalf of all providers, the following options are available in lieu of individually attesting to the Adobe Sign email.

  • Option 1: Complete the PDF roster with the pertinent information, and email it to karen.spaldi@uhc.com
  • Option 2: Send the list of providers including Name, NPI, Address and Completion Date of Training via email to karen.spaldi@uhc.com
