March is National Women’s Month

You can help make a difference in the issues facing women today by reading the latest Health of Women and Children Report from the United Health Foundation.

Some of the key findings include:

  • Mortality rate: Increase in mortality among both women ages 20-44 and children ages 1-19, with notable differences by race/ethnicity and geography
  • Mental and behavioral health: Increase in frequent mental distress and depression among women ages 18-44
  • Drug death rates: Drug death rates among women increased significantly in 30 states, with large disparities among different racial/ethnic groups
