Update: Content changed to reflect program expanding beyond Harris County.
UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Texas now offers 2 new benefits that meet HEDIS© measures and help improve maternal health outcomes — doula services and Mom’s Meals. These benefits are for at-risk pregnant women enrolled in UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Texas.
New benefits and the Healthy First Steps® program encourage healthy behaviors during pregnancy. They also address food, housing and safety needs, and can help reduce preterm births and infant death.
How each benefit works
- Doula services: You can refer a pregnant member to doula services by reaching out to the doula team at hello@thedoulanetwork.com or by calling the Doula Network at 877-436-8527
- Mom’s Meals: Pregnant members in their third trimester with Type 1, Type 2 or gestational diabetes, and who have been designated as having a high-risk pregnancy, may be able to receive up to 14 meals a week during their last 10 weeks of pregnancy
- To request Mom’s Meals for a pregnant member, call 877-835-9850 or go to the Mom's Meals’ website for more information
