Second release scheduled for new claims platform

This month, we’re launching the second release of a new claims processing platform, which will affect level-funded new business products in 29 states and fully insured new business products in 2 states.

This release will not affect your access to the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal or your ability to perform tasks such as prior authorizations, claims submittals or benefit determinations. No action is required on your part as this rollout takes place.

What you need to know

This November release only affects new business (on or after Nov. 1, 2021) on the following level-funded plans:

  • Charter
  • Navigate
  • Select
  • Select Plus
  • Freedom
  • Metro (includes existing Choice, Choice Plus, Core and Liberty plans)

Plans affected by this release are in these states:

  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Arizona
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Idaho
  • Indiana
  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Minnesota
  • Nevada
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New Mexico
  • New York
  • North Dakota
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Dakota
  • Texas
  • Utah
  • Virginia
  • Washington
  • West Virginia
  • Wyoming

The release also affects only new business (on or after Nov. 1, 2021) on the following fully insured plans:

  • Choice
  • Choice Plus
  • Core
  • Core Essential
  • Options PPO

Plans affected by this release are in these states:

  • Illinois
  • Washington

Unlike the September pilot rollout, this release does include plan design types that require hospital tiering.
