Texas: Start authorized LTSS services within 7 days
Last modified: September 13, 2021
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) requires that community-based long-term services and support (LTSS) health care professionals start delivering care within 7 days of an approved authorization.
Our reporting shows that this doesn’t always happen for UnitedHealthcare Community Plan members in Texas. To help ensure members get timely care and the authorizations stay valid, please follow the state’s timeline.
Find authorization dates
You can check the authorized dates of service by viewing approved authorizations in the UnitedHealthcare provider portal Document Library.
If you’d like to learn more about the document library and how to access your documents, view the self-paced course.
