Florida Medicaid: Eligibility rule changes

Recent federal law has changed Medicaid eligibility rules related to immigration status. As a result, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is reviewing the eligibility of certain Medicaid members.

How you can help

If a patient reaches out with questions or needs help understanding what actions they need to take, please encourage them to submit any requested immigration status documentation to DCF, as soon as possible, one of the following ways:

• Upload to their MyACCESS account
• Mail to the return address on their DCF notice
• Fax to the number listed on their DCF notice

Members who don’t provide the required information or who are no longer eligible under the new rules may lose Medicaid coverage, effective Sept. 30, 2026.
