As part of our in-home screening outreach program, eligible UnitedHealthcare commercial plan members may receive one of the following throughout May and June:
- A Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) based on their prior completion of a screening
- A letter or email allowing them to opt in via an online web portal to receive an at-home FIT screening kit beginning in May
- A letter or email encouraging them to order a Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c), estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) or a urine albumin-creatinine ratio (uACR) screening kit
- A phone call to schedule an in-home retinal eye exam with the option of receiving an at home A1C or FIT kit when applicable
What this means for you
You don’t need to do anything for members to receive these kits or to complete these in-home screenings. We wanted to make you aware of these upcoming communications in case your patients reach out to you with questions.
Members who want to receive a kit
Members who opt in and order a kit must use their personal invitation code included in the email or letter we sent them. We’ll also mail members a letter to remind them to send in their kits if they haven’t returned them in 14 days.
After members complete the screening
Once completed and returned, we send the results to the member and their physician. We’ll also call or send a letter to members with a positive or abnormal FIT result encouraging them to follow up with their physician.
