Each year, the Minnesota Department of Human Services (MN DHS) sets fee-for-service payment rates of outpatient hospital services for patients enrolled in Medicaid. The rates are based on the cost-to-share ratios from Worksheet C on your Medicare Cost Report. MN DHS will mail you a summary of the new Critical Access Hospital (CAH) outpatient rates and timelines before they go into effect.
What you need to do
When MN DHS communicates the updated rates with you, you must forward a copy of the rate letter to us. This will help ensure we use the correct payment rate when reimbursing you for outpatient care services.
- Participating providers. Submit a copy of the rate letter to your contract manager. If you don’t know the name of your contract manager, send the letter to us at mn_contracting@uhc.com. Use the subject line “Contract Manager information required for CAH letter.”
- Non-Participating providers. Submit a copy of the letter with each claim using one of the following methods. Include the member’s name, member ID, date of service and claim number, if available.
- Online: Sign in to the portal with your One Healthcare ID at UHCprovider.com > Sign in. Use the TrackIt Quick tool on the upper right corner of the screen.
