COVID-19 Resources for Providers

  • NYSDOH COVID-19 Vaccines, Tests, Treatments, and You
The New York State Department of Health has created a COVID-19 Fact Sheet. Please post this on your Plan’s website, as well as disseminate to your Plan member services staff to provide to members inquiring about COVID-19 vaccines, tests, and treatment. In addition, the Department suggests providing this COVID-19 Fact Sheet at Plan offices and public-facing events, as well as sharing the fact sheet with your Plan contracted network providers.

  • COVID-19 NY State PPE Fee Guidance
The New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) recently issued guidance stating that care providers should not charge members additional fees for items such as personal protective equipment (PPE). DFS expects New York care providers to refund any of these charges paid by the member that was more than the member’s financial responsibility on a claim. If you have questions, please contact your provider advocate or network management contact. Thank you.

  • COVID-19 Prior Authorization End Date Guidance
Specific to New York, prior authorization requirements and site of service reviews will resume on June 18, 2020. UnitedHealthcare is following guidance from the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS). Dates are subject to change or modification per DFS requirements, and you can find updates on the state’s temporary emergency measures on the Important Information from UnitedHealthcare on COVID-19
