- COVID-19 NY State PPE Fee Guidance
The New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) recently issued guidance stating that care providers should not charge members additional fees for items such as personal protective equipment (PPE). DFS expects New York care providers to refund any of these charges paid by the member that were more than the member’s financial responsibility on a claim. - COVID-19 Prior Authorization End Date Guidance
Specific to New York, prior authorization requirements and site of service reviews will resume on June 18, 2020. UnitedHealthcare is following guidance from the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS). Dates are subject to change or modification per DFS requirements, and you can find updates on the state’s temporary emergency measures at the DFS COVID-19 FAQs page.
