Optimize EDI in Your Organization

Don’t Let EDI Productivity and Savings Get Away!

Use the CAQH Index Savings Calculator to estimate potential cost and time savings for your organization.

Reference the CAQH cost savings chart for how much care providers may save for each electronic transaction:

Average cost per transaction and savings opportunity for commercial medical health plans and providers for manual and electronic transactions in 2015.

We’ve improved claims status transaction responses. Search claims in new ways and get more information returned to you.

Contact your software vendor or clearinghouse to activate in your system.

270/271 transaction enhancements let you request more member benefits.

UnitedHealthcare wants to help you overcome barriers to obtain member eligibility and benefits from your 270/271 Health Care Eligibility and Benefit Inquiry and Response transactions.

Live trainings are offered monthly. Sessions include:

  • Introduction to EDI
  • EDI 837 Claims Submission Transactions
  • Enhancements to EDI Transactions

EDI and Link’s online self-service tools help you quickly get the information you need.

EDI transactions are generated from your practice management system (PMS) or hospital information system (HIS), and then are routed to a clearinghouse for submission to UnitedHealthcare. The information we return to you for these transactions is automatically loaded back into your computer system. These are not transactions done through Link using your Optum ID.

EDI allows you to have the capability to submit single or batch transactions for multiple members and multiple payers, which eliminates the need for manual data entry, phone calls and numerous logins for payer websites.
