Oncology Pay for Performance (P4P) program

With the Oncology Pay for Performance (P4P) program, health care professionals can receive incentives for improving the quality and value of care for their cancer patients who are UnitedHealthcare members. We base provider performance on 7 evidence-based measures associated with higher quality and lower costs, including:

  • The prevention of avoidable hospital admissions
  • The prevention of avoidable emergency department visits
  • End-of-life care (includes 3 measures)
  • Pathways compliance
  • Advance care planning and pain management

This program is currently in the pilot phase and available to select providers only.
