UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal enhancements

We can’t make your task list any shorter, but our portal resources page and the following UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal enhancements are designed with your workload in mind.

General Effective date
Primary Access Administrators and Administrators assigned to more than 1 organization/tax ID number (TIN): Deactivate, activate or remove a single user from all organizations in one set of actions.  Feb. 1, 2024
Improve cultural competency: Access recommended cultural competency courses under the Tailored Training section of Profile & Settings. Jan. 25, 2024
See commercial pending claim details, associated letters and action required items in TrackIt: You can then attach additional information and create Provider Information Queue (PIQ) tickets. Weekly email reminders can be updated if desired. (Not available for all claims platforms.) Dec. 15, 2023
Chat about data verification/attestation: You can now use chat for demographic and data verification questions in the My Practice Profile section of the portal. Oct. 18, 2023
Third-party updates: Users can now export third-party access group information.  Sept. 26, 2023
Optional password-free portal login available: Password-free Microsoft Authenticator option is now available as an extra layer of security during portal sign-in. Sept. 15, 2023
Changing email notifications by category: Users with editing capabilities can now send all documents to the same email or opt out of email notifications by document category.  Sept. 8, 2023
Granting administration access: Primary Access Administrators (PAA) and Individual Administrators (IA) can grant administration access using the new access button under Manage Users.  Aug. 30, 2023
Appeal searches in TrackIt: We’ve added the Dual Data Entry (DDE) reference number to TrackIt to search and track UnitedHealthcare® Medicare Advantage appeals.  Aug. 29, 2023
Eligibility Effective date
Check behavioral health prior authorizations by code: You can now check prior authorizations by code for both medical and behavioral health requests.  Sept. 27, 2023
Users are now able to view vendor coverage for Surest members.  Sept. 14, 2023
Chat expanded nationally: Chat is now available in all 50 U.S. states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands in the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal Benefits & Eligibility section.  Aug. 16, 2023
Claims and payments Effective date    
Like facility claims, users can submit duplicate lines for professional claims rather than entering them individually.  Jan. 31, 2024
Facilities can now submit claims through the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal. Jan. 29, 2024*
View zero-dollar PRAs and 835 files in Document Library under Payment Documents. Dec. 15, 2023

Hospitals and facilities will now use Onboard Pro to submit UnitedHealthcare network participation requests. Dec. 15, 2023
Improvements to managing 3rd party access: Primary Access Administrators can proactively grant 3rd party access without a request. They can also assign several tax ID numbers (TINs) at a time on the Manage 3rd Party Access page. Dec. 13, 2023
My Practice Profile: Completed and in progress status updates now shown under one demographic submission.  Nov. 3, 2023
