Behavioral Health Training
  • ATLAS (Addiction Treatment Locator, Assessment and Standards Platform)
    ATLAS is an online Substance Use Disorder Treatment Locator tool created by Shatterproof that assists in the search and comparison of addiction treatment facilities. This valuable resource is accessible not only to your facility staff as part of treatment planning activities but can be provided to your patients and their loved ones. Your patients and their loved ones can access self assessment tools, education on types of treatment, as well as review national principles of care in addition to being able to search for specific treatment options.

  • Care Philosophy Training: Establishing a Trauma-Informed Care Environment
    This course from Optum Health Education offers a foundation for establishing a trauma-informed care environment rooted in evidence-based best practices. The course is designed for those who provide direct services to individuals with highly complex social, behavioral and medical needs. Topics include Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), person-centered care, addiction and recovery, harm reduction, personal narratives, motivational interviewing, stages of change, positive psychology, de-escalation, boundaries and self-care. Continuing education credits are available for this course.

  • Provider Adverse Incident Training - Community Plan of Louisiana
    This policy applies to UnitedHealthcare Community Plan (UHCCP) of Louisiana membership. The purpose of the policy is to outline process for managing member occurrences identified as Adverse Incidents (AIs). All incidents in-scope for this policy are hereafter referred to as Adverse Incidents or AIs. Adverse Incidents include, but are not limited to, concurrent urgent quality of care issues that can reasonably be expected to cause harm or affect member safety.

    • Online training for Behavioral Health Providers is available under “UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Prior Authorization Training for Behavioral Health Providers”.

  • UnitedHealthcare Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) 2020 Toolkit

Non-licensed behavioral health providers are required by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals to complete standard basic training courses. The required trainings and attestation form are available on Provider Express under "Louisiana Non-Licensed Behavioral Health Provider Training".

This state specific (Louisiana) training is part of a request from the Louisiana Department of Health to ensure patients engage in ongoing treatment following their initial diagnosis, through education of both behavioral health and front line medical staff. This training will provide an overview of the appropriate screening tools, levels of care, resources and Medication Assisted Treatment. 

Optum Provider Express offers a variety of informational webinars and training resources for providers. Training classes, guides and resources are added frequently.

    • Online training for Behavioral Health Providers is available under “UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Prior Authorization Training for Behavioral Health Providers”.
  • Provider Express Training & Guided Tours - Optum Provider Express offers guided training about prior authorization, eligibility and benefits, and claims (claim entry, corrected claims, claim inquiry, etc.). First-time user training is available as well as a technical resource guide.
