On March 20, 2023, we learned that incorrect eligibility data was being shown for some UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Massachusetts members who are actively enrolled in the Senior Care Options (SCO) plan. This technical issue has now been resolved. Please continue to provide authorized care services according to the enrollees’ current individual care plan.

If you experienced a denial related to coverage eligibility or have questions about a SCO plan member’s eligibility, please call UnitedHealthcare at 888-867-5511, TTY 711. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

In response to the U.S. opioid epidemic, UnitedHealthcare has developed programs to help our members receive the care and treatment they need safely and effectively.

We’ve also established measures based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) opioid treatment guidelines to help prevent overuse of short-acting and long-acting opioid medications.
